Dissemination Plan

Deliverable D2.1: Dissemination Plan This deliverable describes the planned activities in Work Package 2 “Dissemination, outreach and training” of the EU DEEP-ER project.
approved by EC
D2.2

First Report on Dissemination and Training

Deliverable D2.2: First Report on Dissemination and Training This deliverable reports on the activities and achievements of Work Package 2 “Dissemination, outreach and training“ of the DEEP-ER project during the first project year.
approved by EC
D2.3

Second Report on Dissemination and Training

Deliverable D2.3 Second Report on Dissemination This deliverable reports on the activities and achievements of Work Package 2 “Dissemination, outreach and training“ of the DEEP-ER project during the second project year (October 2014 to September 2015).

D3.3

Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Assessment

Deliverable D3.3: Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Assessment This document presents an assessment of the functional and performance characteristics of non-volatile memory (NVM) storage in DEEP-ER.
approved by EC
D3.4

Network Attached Memory (NAM)

Deliverable D3.4: Network Attached Memory This document presents the current status of the Network Attached Memory (NAM). The NAM is a dedicated component that is directly connected to the EXTOLL network within the DEEP-ER system. It can either serve as a (shared) storage or application-specific compute node. For both, the NAM promises to lower the communication overhead on the network.

Definition of Requirements for I/O

Deliverable D4.1: Definition of Requirements for I/O This deliverable summarises the application I/O requirements within the DEEP-ER project and introduces the three I/O components, namely, BeeGFS (formerly FhGFS), SIONlib and Exascale10. They address different aspects of I/O within the DEEP-ER project. The application I/O requirements have been systematically addressed through a detailed questionnaire that was submitted to the application developers. This deliverable also explores the inputs needed for these I/O components from the various work packages.
approved by EC
D4.2

I/O Interfaces Description

Deliverable D4.2: I/O Interfaces Description This deliverable describes the different I/O interfaces within the DEEP-ER project, which include the BeeGFS file system, its extensions, and the SIONlib and Exascale10 I/O middleware layers. It briefly describes design concepts and gives an overview of the relevant parts of the API that can be used by DEEP-ER applications to perform I/O efficiently and reliably. This will be of primary interest to applications (WP6) which can exploit these APIs for doing very efficient I/O at scale.
approved by EC
D4.3

Definition of test cases and patterns

Deliverable D4.3: Definition of test cases and patterns This deliverable describes a set of synthetic and application-based benchmarks, which will be used to evaluate the DEEP-ER I/O Architecture with respect to I/O performance, scalability and integration effort.
approved by EC
D5.1

Checkpointing Architecture Design

Deliverable D5.1: Checkpointing Architecture Design This deliverable describes the software architecture that will be developed in the context of the DEEP-ER project to achieve a resiliency level that can effectively scale out on Exascale systems. These systems will require not only stronger resiliency techniques than the current ones but also more flexible and malleable approaches to deal with the heterogeneous nature of DEEP and DEEP-ER proposals.
approved by EC
D5.2

Interface Abstraction Layer

Deliverable D5.2: Interface Abstraction Layer The design of the DEEP-ER system architecture intends to address the need of high resiliency at Exascale. It foresees a multi-staged storage facility to save data needed for a certain job to restart from. The deliverable deals with the appropriate software, which manages the data flows between the application and storage layers, as well as the data transfer between the layers.
approved by EC
D7.1

performance extrapolation based on design decisions

Deliverable D7.1: Report on performance extrapolation based on design decisions This Deliverable investigates the design decisions in light of their effect on system scalability, performance, and energy efficiency, extrapolating application results on the DEEP system.
