SC15 is fast approaching. The world’s largest supercomputing conference and exhibit will be held this year in Austin, Texas from November 15 to 20 2015. And of course the DEEP and DEEP-ER projects don’t want to miss this unique opportunity to present themselves and mingle with the community.

Where to find us at SC15:

  • Exhibition floor: Booth #197 European Exascale Projects.Together with our partner projects Mont-Blanc, EPiGRAM, and EXA2CT we will present and discuss latest developments of our research.

  • Emerging Technologies Exhibits:
    • openHMC - A Configurable Open-Source Hybrid Memory Cube Controller: The link between the processor and the memory is one of the last remaining parallel buses and a major performance bottleneck in HPC systems. The Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) was developed with the goal of helping to overcome this memory wall. Learn about this open source HMC project and its implementation in the DEEP-ER project at the Emerging Technology Exhibit (Room 14) or come and see hardware and demo at our booth.

  • Partner booths: We cannot answer your questions in all detail? No problem, quite some of the project partners are present at the show with their own booths. Don’t hesitate to pay them a visit: BSC (241); Eurotech (3224); Extoll (191); Fraunhofer ITWM (2022) Intel (1233/1355); Inria (2221); JSC (233); LRZ (2328); Seagate (568)

What to talk about at SC15:

  • Final Results of the DEEP Project: With the final review held in October 2015, the project is officially over. While our experts are still taking care of last tuning issues, our colleagues onsite are happy to tell you the whole DEEP story on how our vision for a novel approach to heterogonous computing became a reality in a prototype with 500 TFlop/s peak performance, up and running at Jülich Supercomputing Center.

  • Enabling HPC Applications for Exascale: Now that the prototype is up and running, we also want to educate interested application developers on the DEEP system and how it helps them to get their codes ready for future HPC machines. We have a presentation on that ready at the booth and experts onsite for Q&A.

  • BoF on Cross-Continental Exascale CollaborationBoF on Cross-Continental Exascale Collaboration: Together with our colleagues from other European Exascale Projects we want to share key lessons we learned on the way to building next generation HPC systems – be it in hardware, software or applications and tools development. And we want to update the community on how these lessons have inspired current and future research in Europe. Against this background, we would also love to find out and talk about ways to leverage global synergies. So please, join our BoF on Thursday, November 19 2015 from 3:30-5:00pm.

Hope to see you there & looking forward to inspiring discussions at our booth!
Let’s keep Austin weird together ;)
